Scope & Topics
High-entropy alloys (HEAs) is an exciting and vibrant field of materials science, and recently the concept of HEAs has been extended to design polymers, ceramics and composites, hence a new filed of research on High Entropy Materials (HEMs) has emerged. In this symposium, recent advances on the development, processing and characterization of HEMs will be presented and discussed. Studies have shown that the high entropy strategy has great potential for the development of new materials with properties beyond those of conventional materials based on one principal element or component, by exploring central regions of complex composition space. Experimental, theoretical and computational researches of phase diagrams, microstructure, mechanical, physical, chemical and functional properties of HEMs are welcomed. The program will include oral presentations (invited and regular) and poster sessions. Symposium topics will include (but not limited to):
- Materials design, synthesis, and processing
- Microstructural characterization
- Mechanical, physical, chemical and functional properties
- Modeling and simulation of microstructure, processes, and properties
- Other high-entropy materials (ceramics, polymers, coatings, and composites)
